Nockamixon State Park

We went glamping (glamour camping) to celebrate my dad's 65th birthday. We rented a charming three bedroom cabin in Nockamixon State Park. The Pennsylvania Park System's website was very easy to navigate and allowed me to make an online reservation. We were able to rent the cabin for a weekend($220) just before the week-long rental periods began for the season. The cabin was "modern" with a clean bathroom and a nice kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, stove, and oven. There was a fire pit outside and we enjoyed making s'mores (kudos to my dad and brother for starting a fire with wet wood from major rain the night before!). We were fifteen minutes from Quakertown so we were able to have dinner in a restaurant one night at McCoole's at the Red Lion Inn, which was delicious and child-friendly. We ate the other meals in the cabin or outside (everybody brought their assigned items and we also stopped at a grocery store nearby.) Jeremy very much enjoyed his first boat experience! He also loved looking at the marina. He was thrilled by all of the rooms being on one floor. Overall, it was a very affordable and convenient getaway!
